The Couven Museum shows the development of bourgeois domestic culture and home decor in the 18th and 19th centuries. Rococo, early classicism and the Napoleonic Empire style to Biedermeier, Aachen-Lütticher furniture of the 18th century, façades, precious glass and porcelain. The Couven Museum, named after the famous Aachen architect Johann Joseph Couven, is located in the house of the traditional Aachen pharmacist family Monheim, which dates from 1787.
