Goethe House and Goethe Museum

On a tour through Goethe's home, you can see how the bourgeoisie lived at that time and feel the spirit of the masterpieces that were written there (Götz von Berlichingen, Faust, The Sorrows of Young Werther). At the Goethe Museum, there is a painting gallery dedicated exclusively to the age of Goethe. The museum deals with the poet's relationship to the arts and the artists of his time. You will see pictures from important artists from German speaking areas, from the late Baroque period through the Sturm und Drang, the Classicism and the Romantic era, to the Biedermeier period.
