The universe is in Graz! No joke, but as a wonderful example of harmonious architecture Schloss Eggenberg lies on the edge of the city center. The castle is in the middle of a beautiful park, which was planned as an architectural allegory of the universe. The building represents a precisely calculated cosmos. With this castle, from 1625 onwards builder Prince Hans Ulrich von Eggenberg renounced his desire for a harmonious structure as a result of the chaotic 16th century.
Staterooms:
The Beletage of Schloss Eggenberg has retained its original appearance until today almost unchanged. The cycle of 24 state rooms with original equipment of the 17th and 18th century is one of the most important ensembles of historical interiors that Austria possesses. Seldom has a room of artistic quality been so completely and so undisturbed. Its centerpiece is the glamorous Planetensaal. Discover these fascinating rooms as part of a group tour.
