After visiting a number of locations in the city, you will have a good understanding of how the parliamentary movement within Germany developed. We explain the aims and views of the different political movements, from Vormärz, Wachensturm and Vorparlament to the National Assembly. We trace the triumphal entry of parliamentarians from the imperial hall into the Paulskirche, go to sites of former faction and party meetings in former inns and cafes, get to know critical Frankfurt citizens such as Friedrich Stoltze, whose work satirically commented on political events, hear about the efforts of women to participate in the political discussion, learn about the role of the German Confederation in the Palace Thurn and Taxis and much more. The dramatic conclusion of the event is the description of the assassination of the conservative deputies, Auerswald and Lichnowsky on the Bornheimer Heide, which heralded the failure of the Paulskirchen Parliament.
